Tweed River Bait & Tackle

Big new changes to our shop in the next few months. We have been changing the look of the shop to incorporate a take-away section. So this means that shortly you will be able to buy your breakfast or lunch and a cup of coffee when you come in to get your fishing supplies.
We have had lots and lots of rain over the last month and finally are starting to string a few fine days together and the river has cleared up. Time to get out your fishing gear and get out there as the river is looking great and we are hearing lots of good reports of good whiting and flathead. We have had a hard time getting a supply of beach worms due to the weather and high seas so we have been able to source out a supply of blood worms.. Yes they are more expensive but they are working a treat and are the best bait for whiting. Come in and try them just once and you will be back again for more!
The bigger sea bream have just started in the Tweed and it won't be long before the Luderwick are being caught in good numbers. Usually we start getting weed up from Yamba at the end of May.
It has been a while since we have had much news from offshore due to the bad weather in big seas but now we are seeing Wahoo and Yellowfin.
